I'm now in Macro mode, I've been practicing close-up shots since yesterday. This flower is called bougainvillea. We have a lot of this back home too in Manila. They are shrubs/vines with beautiful flowers. They do have thorns though, that's why back home, we mainly plant this near our fence to ward of intruders, hehe. Isn't it cool for a plant to be used for protection as well as for aesthetic reasons?

I took me more than two days to get this shot. I am so tempted to buy a new lense. (excuses!)
